Driven by their passion for cyber security, Sandra and Götz Schartner founded 8com in 2004 to increase the security of companies and public authorities and protect them from cyber attacks.
Today, 8com is an established Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) with over 75 employees and clients in over 40 countries. 8com began with penetration tests, i.e. technical security audits in which professional hackers penetrate IT systems and examine them for vulnerabilities using targeted attacks. These investigations are still an important part of the company's work today.
In 2019, 8com celebrated the opening of its Cyber Defence Centre in its new building. Here, specialists from the fields of security monitoring, vulnerability management, forensics and more work hand in hand to protect our clients' systems from cyber attacks.
In doing so, 8com always has the big picture in mind – including the human interface. With live hacking demonstrations, trainings, e-learning and other awareness measures, 8com has so far sensitised thousands of employees to the dangers in cyberspace and enabled them to use technology securely.
